Have you heard about this movie? I just did. It's a film shot in every country in the world on a single day. It really is awe-inspiring and a terrific reminder of the "oneness" of the human race. I can't wait until it's completed. Here's a preview:

Kendi Everyday
There's nothing like the little rush you get when you discover a new blog that's as cool as this one. Enter Kendi Everyday, a daily "what-I-wore" blog. It doesn't hurt that she's so stylish, beautiful, and her husband is a photographer. It's fun to vicariously live through her amazing closet! She's even sweet enough to share where she gets her fabulous finds. Plus she also puts together The 30 for 30 Remix where she challenges herself to make 30 outfits out of 30 items in her closet. How fun is that?! Check out the most recent results here. These are just a few of my favorite looks:
Fabulous, right?!

Right about now...
... I look a bit freakish. Why? Well, because my entire face is covered in this homemade pore strips recipe.
My son thought it looked like I had snot all over my face. Note to self: Next time do mask in privacy of bathroom.
Oh, what we women do for beauty. No matter what this mask looks like or what it smells like (not pleasant)...
It. Is. Amazing! Afterwards, you will have the smoothest and softest skin ever!!! I am addicted. And that's okay, because this recipe is inexpensive and so easy to make. So much better than those expensive Biore strips. Intrigued? Read this post, add the ingredients (unflavored gelatin + milk) to your shopping list, and try it tonight. It takes only 30 minutes to get practically hairless skin with gunk-free pores. Look forward to having the most radiant and supple skin ever!

Stay cool this weekend.
Oh my goodness, it's so hot here that I can barely stand to go outside. The temperature has been either in the high 90's or the low 100's. You could say that I'm pretty much over this whole summer thing. Our weekend entails completing home projects {indoors only} and a few solid hours of lounging around, reading, cards, and surfing the web. Here's some links from the past week that are worth sharing:
How fun are these piano stairs? Such a clever idea.
A few things I've learned lately on Live & Enliven was so encouraging and such a revelation. I must make my own list.
Kate's nursery is brimming with creativity and a visual delight. Definitely worth bookmarking for nursery inspiration.
How divine and chic are these chewbeads? The color options are endless, too. Added it to the baby list!
Since it's too hot outside for a campfire... these baby s'mores may just be the perfect substitution {or even better}.
Plus, I'm anticipating starting this summer beach read this weekend and completing this tutorial on making photo collages with a free online photo editor. Exciting!

Something about this...
... old random post about nursery inspiration blew my mind. It's from back in February and I had no idea that I was just barely pregnant and would indeed realize my longing for a baby girl... crazy. It was such a wonderful surprise to come across the post and remind myself just how fortunate I truly am. Life is a mysterious and marvelous wonderment, isn't it? I can't wait to meet our daughter, but for now I'll nurture her inside and...

Fired Up for a Change
No, I'm not thinking about going back to the turquoise walls in my living room. I have my eye on that fireplace. My faux fireplace is made of wood and currently stained a honey color. I have a similar huge white mirror over it now and I like how in this inspiration photo having the fireplace white makes the effect more grand. I've been considering painting it white for a while now and I think the time has finally come to get my paintbrush out!

Right about now...
I'm dressing my burgeoning baby bump in simple and comfy outfits and topping it all off with this hat to cover up my pesky roots. Pregnancy cravings include summer melons and I may have found a contender for my future diaper bag.

Have a tranquil weekend.
Doesn't inner tubing through the canals of an old sugar plantation sound like a little slice of heaven? I wanna go. Instead we're off to visit family which is still lovely in its own right. Here are a few links from the past week that are worthy of passing on...

Counting sheep
I can't sleep. Rampant thoughts just play through my head like they're on repeat.
I've tried to count sheep. I pretend I'm a shepherd taking my flock home for the evening after a long day in the fields.
I count them as they enter the barn... {I'm drifting... drifting... off to sleep}.. then {bam!}
I discover one's missing and I become frantic. Now I'm more like Bo Peep and my mind is racing...
Moral to this story... counting sheep doesn't work.

Lonny July/August Issue
The latest issue is out! Sit back, relax, and read it here.
So far, I'm loving the feature on Tamra Magel's showroom (pages 72-79)... especially her Blackman Cruz hammock and funky, vibrant floor pillows. Can I just live there? Heaven!

Have a productive {yet relaxing} weekend!
Our weekend ahead entails my son's baseball game and home projects galore. Fun, right? Maybe I can sneak in a nap here or there. Besides that, here are some link worthy sites I stumbled upon this past week...

Beautiful Butterflies
When we told my son that he was going to be a big brother, the first words out of his mouth were,
"I hope it's a girl so I can teach her how to draw beautiful butterflies."
His words just melted my heart and lucky for him he'll get that opportunity someday.
Until then I want to incorporate a piece of his artwork above her crib like in this art wall.

Let them eat cake!
Of course we needed to make an American flag cake to accompany our Fourth of July festivities! I used Bob's Red Mill vanilla cake mix {I substituted Ener-G for eggs and applesauce for oil} and this vegan white frosting recipe {I used coconut milk instead of soy creamer}. The little guy helped make the flag with blueberries and strawberries.
Delish!

Have a sparkling weekend!
I really appreciated this terrific article about How to Talk to Little Girls {via} tulips and flight suits. Enlightening.
We've had our Expedit shelf for 7 years now and it's graced nearly every room of our house. Now it sits unused and I was tempted to part ways with it finally. I'm glad I came across this article because it helped me decide to hold onto it since it's such a versatile piece.
This beautiful recipe makes me want to run out to buy some lychee and make popsicles!
I am super psyched about starting to make our own green cleaners.
This button monogram would be a cute addition to the nursery.
Can I just have 3 extra hours today so I can attempt to make these crepe paper flowers? Okay, realistically maybe I'll need 5.
Add to my bucket list: Learning how to braid. 'Cause I'm loving these fishtail braids.
